👍Waxing is a quick and quite effective method of removing unwanted hair from places such as your legs, armpits and bikini line. It involves mechanical pulling of the hair using liquid natural wax. It is applied to the selected place, waits for it to freeze, and then it is torn off together with the hair and their bulbs. After waxing, the skin is smooth for 3 to 6 weeks.

🤔What is the waxing procedure and how is it performed?

The wax depilation treatment is based on the fact that the wax is heated to obtain its semi-liquid form, and then it is applied to the skin in the direction in which the hair grows. Wax sticks to the hair, and when it solidifies, it breaks, which allows not only to remove unnecessary hair, but also their bulbs, which makes the hair weaken and the need for hair removal becomes rarer. The wax depilation method works well for places like arms, armpits, arms, legs and groin (bikini area). With waxing, ladies can also remove a small mustache above the upper lip.

Waxing can be performed by both women and men who most often want to remove unwanted hair from the back, chest or armpits.

Before waxing, a qualified cosmetician fills out the client's card, asks about health, allergies and skin conditions, performs a test. If there are no contraindications proceed to the procedure. The skin must be washed with an antibacterial gel to prevent any infection. Then warm wax (but not hot - be careful not to burn the wax!) Is spread with a disposable spatula (for each customer!) On a selected place on the skin in the direction of hair growth. Then a strip of material is applied to the wax and the wax waits. When this happens, the skin is tightened and the material tears off with a quick, firm motion in the opposite direction to hair growth. The hair is thus removed (pulled out) together with the bulbs, because they stick with the wax to the material.

Waxing can also be done without using material strips. For this purpose, a special type of wax should be used - after its application and hardening, a sheet of wax along with the hair stuck to it is torn off quickly.

Waxing is the safest way to do it in a beauty salon. The beautician will select, heat and apply wax accordingly, and will skillfully peel it off when it solidifies. Using the wax depilation method yourself requires a lot of attention and experience - in the event of improper breakage of the strip of material or solidified wax, you can break the continuity of the skin and cause painful damage to the epidermis.

After waxing, the beautician rinses the skin with a special balsal or olive oil to clean the wax and protect the skin.

🤔In what cases should you not use waxing?

Waxing should not be done if you have dilated capillaries. Contraindications for waxing the legs are varicose veins and phlebitis of the lower extremities. Waxing should also not be performed with purulent inflammation of the skin (this may result in secondary infection), in the presence of folliculitis, wax allergy, and just after sunbathing or just before exposure to UVA and UVB rays. Waxing will also not have the intended effect if the hair is too short (it will not stick properly to the congealing wax).

The advantage of waxing is that the effect of smooth, hairless skin is visible immediately after it is applied and lasts for quite a long time (usually between 3 and 6 weeks). Hair after waxing regrow weaker, softer and thinner, which makes their removal less painful and can be carried out less often. A good and hygienic waxing does not cause redness, burning or itching of the skin. Wax depilation also has a peeling-like effect: during it, layers of dead skin are removed and the skin becomes smoother.
